Artificers break the Wish Economy

Post by Endovior »

A thought just occurred to me. Artificers break the Wish Economy. Where everyone else is running around Wishing up heaps of +1 Swords just because they can, Artificers are running around picking up +1 Swords and forging them into +5 Vorpal Swords.

Thoughts?

But then the spell plague came and fucked up the landscape and now there are mountains where there didn't used to be and dragons with boobs and no one has the slightest idea of what's going on. And now there are like monsters everywhere and shit.

Remember, the Wish economy is a limit on what you can get. Without it, people just Wish for +5 Vorpal swords in the first place.

Also, Artificers break the game in the first place and should be shot.

Well, item crafters in the first place breaks the wish economy. The thing is that the wish economy hands out infinite gold, so you can go ahead and craft whatever items you want if you've got enough time.

Really, item crafting feats just don't work at all in the wish economy.

Actually, there's a limit on most item crafters: experience. Artificers bypass that limit.

Time is not a factor in D&D.

Honestly the Wish Economy starts out broken, epic level type broke, since it allows arbitrary amounts of 9th level spell scrolls. So, regardless of the Artificer problem you need to house rule even Frank and K's superior rule set. Apparently D&D cannot exist at all without heavy house ruling or heavy ignorance.
